Duties & Responsibilities
An incumbent in this classification provides protection for client buildings and properties and provides assistance and direction to members of the public and client employees having business within client buildings and/or properties. Incumbents work under the supervision of a Head Security Officer but work independently during shifts, exercising initiative on matters not prescribed within established policies and procedures.
Typical Duties
The Mezuzah Security Officer shall:
• Provide protection for all client buildings against vandalism and illegal intrusion.
• Provide protection for all exterior client properties with regard to unauthorized use.
• Provide assistance and direction to all members of the public and client employees having official business within client buildings.
• Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior of client properties to establish and maintain security controls.
• Monitor and responds to technical security alarms installed in client buildings.
• Maintain good working relations with local law enforcement agencies.
• Conduct casual surveillance on all members of the public entering client buildings relative to irrational behaviour.
• Respond to complaints by client employees regarding members of the public carrying out irrational acts.
• Issue parking enforcement control as required.
• Act on established programs related to fire evacuations.
• Act on established procedures related to “bomb threats”.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Patrol premises regularly

Duties & Responsibilities
• Supervises all Security Officers working within an assigned area.
• Supervises contract security guards employed on periodic occasions for special functions.
• Responds to and investigates all complaints related to security, ensuring remedial action.
• Establishes and prepares shift scheduling for all Security Officers.
• Prepares and maintains pay sheets, shift differential sheets, sick returns and vacation rosters.
• Establishes control procedures for issuance and care of Master keys.
• Records and arranges for remedial action for all complaints related to safety or fire control within each complex.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Provide a high level of client / customer service in a challenging and dynamic environment.
• Monitor site visitors, cameras, and alarm systems to ensure safety and access in accordance with Mezuzah’s policies and procedures.
• Monitor and control the issuing and retrieval of visitor badges.
• Conduct routine searches and scheduled security checks of the entire facility and its surroundings on a daily basis and report any discrepancies that can cause damage or injury to the users of the facility to the Mezuzah control room.
• Maintain and update the OB (occurrence book) and registers in the security office.
• Log in the appropriate OB any areas that could be deemed as a breach of security (i.e. door(s) not closing properly OR areas with poor lighting).
• Issue and control all facility access keys which is required by the client.
• Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Patrolling of car park areas to ensure that vehicles are parked within the designated areas and that all NO PARKING areas remain clear in the event of an emergency.
• Patrol premises to prevent and/or detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Respond professionally to emergencies (alarms, medical emergencies, fires and other urgent matters).
• Prepare and maintain professional and effective reports regarding these activities, security violations, and hazardous occurrences on site.
• Ensure that clients and ancillary service providers using the facility and its equipment do so within the terms and conditions set out by the company.
• Liaise with existing and any outsourced security personnel to ensure adequate security coverage is provided at all times.
• Conduct door duty and crowd control. Escort guests and employees as required.
• Prevent theft, violence or infraction of rules and regulations.
• Effectively communicate all suspicious activities, concerns, issues, and events to the Mezuzah control room.
• Operate detecting devices to screen individuals and prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas.
• Perform any other duties as determined by the client or the Mezuzah control room.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform Control Room daily operations with high integrity and efficiency. (Professionalism is vital)
• Issue allocated postings of the clients sites and maintain constant communication on the client groups.
• Monitor CCTV during the shift and report any unusual activity to Line Manager / Supervisor / Duty Security Officer.
• Respond promptly to the radio checks, made by the staff and keep accurate records of all communication.
• Keep record of staff members, going on visits & keep a record of any incidents and report these to Management or the Supervisor.
• Monitor Vehicle and Staff movements via the prescribed software, issue site related equipment to staff on instruction of management or client and report any alarm activation to the site security, management as well as the client.
• Inform Site Security officer of any Security related incident. Instigate telephone Tree where directed to do so.
• Monitor the security situation and liaise with the SAPS and armed response on the activity seen on site.
• Manage and answer all the calls coming into the control room courteously and direct them to the right department promptly and courteously.
• Locate client addresses, client contacts and the contact numbers of the different government services as required for the incident.
• Manage the site posting lists and other site officers’ lists on daily basis.
• Take important messages for staff mainly from clients, and site officers and delivering the messages on priority bases without any delay.
• Maintain record of outgoing mail via site tenant complaints or management instruction.
• Any other duty as directed by Management.
